Whitney Norris, Ph.D., LPC-S, SEP
Whitney is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#P1605061). She graduated with her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2011 and has worked in a variety of settings since from an inpatient addictions treatment center to community mental health now with a decade of experience in private practice. She recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical & Translational Sciences from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is now working as a post-doctoral fellow at UAMS while continuing to offer neurofeedback to a limited number of clients at LRCW.
Whitney is passionate about helping others find healing after trauma. She primarily works with individuals who have experienced any type of traumatic stress with a focus on early/developmental trauma. Over the past two years, Whitney’s focus has shifted primarily to the utilization of neurofeedback in the treatment of trauma. Research over the past 40+ years has found that neurofeedback training as a part of the therapy process can often help people meet their goals faster than talk therapy alone.
